I am utterly obsessed with Lindsey Thornberg's line of cloaks. funky, colorful fabrics...perfect for snuggling into in the cold days. a joyous statement to say the least.

big sur escapade

I am back from what seemed now to be a distant dream. Big Sur was the destination, and myself and my roomate Brittany had a six day excursion of exploring, galavanting around, stayed with friends in magical little treehouses, played with mountain-wolf dogs, ate the most amazing food, and ran around like queens.
Where Northern California meets Southern California; intense fusion of rocky cliffs, forests, and redwood trees mixed with tropical plants, palms, clear blue water, and beautiful weather.
we treated ourselves to rich, glorious meals of eggs benedict, frothy lattes, greek honey yogurt & fresh fruits, all while soaking up the warm sun.
I am back now to the real world, brilliant memories in tact, and a plethora of photographs as well, all that will be shared.

trip to the market

so i stumbled on the greatest market up the street. the freshest veggies, and oh so cheap. Bought three meals worth of food for fifteen dollars. Ever since I ate at Sol Food in San Rafael last week, Ive been obsessed with Puerto Rican and South American cuisine; fresh citrus, coconut undertones, and the basics beans and rice.
My flat mate and I have been cooking up the most delightfully flavorful dishes (all vegetarian, might i add) the past few days, as we have (finally) figured out how to work the gas stove. We have been taking turns playing sugar momma to one another, and our bellies are warm and fuzzy as a result.

maine, and i forget.
east coast. rest and relaxation.
chilled beers in hand, floating in inner tubes and no responsibilites.
barefoot, and picking blueberries. sleeping in grandparents' creeky wooden cabin,
the smell of worn years, endless summers, and damp heavy air sweeping in through the creeking windows.
mama loon and baby loon swim side by side.
thunderstorms... soulfull and strong. they are to be heard. they are to be known. i feel small under them.
the sky speaks different every night, i give into their glow. i try and respond, but i dont seem to speak their language. not yet, at least. worn treasures surround me, from far beyond my years. yellowed photographs, and heavy chests filled with wool blankets that hibernate during the snow covered winters. it is here, where i belong. the isolation is quite heavenly.
